ARTICLE I: NAME AND PURPOSE
The name of this body shall be the Diocesan Assembly, hereafter referred to as “The Assembly,” of the Daughters of the King, Diocese of Florida. Its purpose shall be to carry out and uphold within the Diocese of Florida the principles and work of the Order of the Daughters of the King, the extension of the Order, and the strengthening of its work throughout the Diocese of Florida ( as directed by the Bishop of the Diocese of Florida.)
ARTICLE II: MEMBERSHIP
Each chapter in the diocese shall be a constituent unit of the Diocesan Assembly, and each chapter member shall be a member of the Diocesan Assembly. Daughters-at-large are also members of the Diocesan Assembly.
ARTICLE III: ( DIOCESAN) MEETINGS
There shall be two Assembly meetings a year, spring and fall. The election and installation of officers shall occur every three years at the Fall Assembly. They (The officers) shall take office September 1 of the following year. Additional business meetings may be scheduled by the President. The 1st Vice-president shall determine the place and specific date for each Assembly.
ARTICLE IV: THE EXECUTIVE BOARD
Section 1. The Executive Board shall be composed of officers (elected by the Assembly) The Diocesan chaplain shall serve as an advisor to the Executive Board. The Executive board shall be the governing body of the Assembly and conduct all business of the Order between meetings. They shall meet at least twice a year (prior to the fall and Spring Assembly.)
Section 2. The Diocesan Officers shall be a President, a 1st Vice President, a 2nd Vice President, a Secretary and a Treasurer. The officers shall serve a 3 year term.
ARTICLE V: THE DIOCESAN BOARD
The Diocesan Board shall consist of the Executive Board, all Chapter Presidents and all appointed Chairpersons. All shall attend the Diocesan board meetings twice a year. All chapter Presidents and appointed Chairpersons shall submit an annual report by August 15th to the Diocesan President.

ARTICLE VI: FUNDS
The Funds of the Assembly shall be the Self-Denial Fund, the Master’s fund, (the Alpha Fund )and the Endowment Fund. A report on each Fund shall be made soon after collection dates. (Collection dates are:) Self-denial Fund – February 2nd; Master's Fund -Pentecost; (Alpha Fund – September 5th) and Endowment
Fund -November 1st.
ARTICLE VII: AMENDMENTS
This Constitution as a whole or in part may be amended by a majority of members present and voting at either assembly provided the amendment has been made available in writing to each Daughter 30 days preceding the meeting, and with the approval of the Assembly.

BYLAWS
OF THE DIOCESE OF FLORIDA
DAUGHTERS OF THE KING
AMENDED 2010
ARTICLE I: OFFICERS
Section 1. Selection and Term: The President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer shall be elected by the membership for a three year term to take office September 1st of every third year. These officers shall be elected by the Assembly membership at the Fall Assembly of the preceding year.
Section 2. Nominations and Elections: At least three months prior to the Fall Assembly, at which the election will take place, the President shall appoint a nominating committee. Any member may
submit names to the committee for its consideration (providing the nominates are current with their dues.) The committee shall contact each prospective nominee to get her consent. The committee shall present a (list) of nominees to the Fall Assembly. Additional nominations may be made from the floor with the
prior knowledge and consent of the nominee. A majority of the votes cast by members present will be necessary to elect. (If only one name per position is put forth then the Assembly will vote on the slate.) The elected officers will be installed the following Fall Assembly.
Section 3. Vacancies: In case of a vacancy in an elected office, the President shall appoint someone to fill the vacancy.
Section 4. Duties of Officers:
1) The President shall preside at all meetings. She shall appoint all
committees and shall be an ex-officio member of all committees. She shall represent the Diocesan Assembly at Province IV meetings. She, or her representative, shall make presentations at all churches interested in installing new chapters. She shall perform all other duties pertaining to her Office. She shall be a signer on the DOK Diocese of Florida Bank account.
2) The 1st Vice-President shall, in the absence of the President, perform all duties of the President. In case of resignation or death of the President the 1st Vice-president shall automatically become President. She shall assist the President as requested by her. She shall plan all Diocesan Retreats and Assemblies with the approval of the Executive Board.
3) The 2nd Vice President shall be in charge of training new chapters or assisting chapter presidents with training in existing chapters. She is responsible for seeing that there is someone who is trained to help chapters in their area with the training of new daughters.
4) The Secretary shall keep all minutes of each Assembly, Executive
Board and Diocesan board meetings. She shall prepare copies of the minutes and provide same to all Executive board members within 3 weeks of the event. She shall assist the president in preparing materials and mailings. She shall perform all other duties pertaining to the office.
5) The Treasurer shall receive all monies of the Assembly. She shall pay all disbursements. She shall be a signer on the DOK Diocesan of Florida Bank Account, keep an accurate record of all receipts and disbursements. (She will provide monthly copies of the bank statements for the accounts to the President and 1st Vice President. and recording secretary.) She will submit a treasurer’s report to the membership annually and present an annual budget to the membership for its approval. She shall forward a report of monies contributed to each National Fund to the Diocesan Funds Coordinator. All receipts (for events, whether requiring reimbursement or not,) must be sent to the Treasurer within 60 days of an event (with detail explanation of the spending. If reimbursement is required it must be accompanied by an approved Request for Reimbursement form available from the Treasurer.)
ARTICLE II: CHAPLAIN
Section 1. The President, in consultation with the Bishop, shall appoint the Chaplain.
Section 2. Duties The Chaplain shall oversee the spiritual matters of the Order. The chaplain shall be invited to attend all meetings. The chaplain will be available to the President for counsel and advice on Order matters.

ARTICLE III: FUNDS
The Self-Denial fund, the Master’s fund, (Alpha Fund) and the Endowment fund shall be administered according to the guidelines of the Order as determined by the National Council.
ARTICLE IV: DUES AND GIFTS
Daughters will be encouraged to pay their annual dues (to their chapter President or chapter treasurer who will send one check with the dues and approbate form to National by September 1st each year.) They will also be encouraged to make contributions to cover the expenses of the work of the Assembly through a Love Offering or by individual contributions made at any time. Contributions should be given to the Diocesan Treasurer.
ARTICLE V: AMENDMENTS
These Bylaws may be amended by the Diocesan board by a majority vote. A notice of proposed amendments shall be provided in writing to the Diocesan Board 30 days prior to the presentation at the Diocesan Board meeting. Any part of this Constitution and Bylaws which becomes inconsistent with the Rules of the order established by the National Council shall be brought into agreement with the National Rules.
